How a £1.93m budget gap became a balanced final budget
In July 2025 EEBC forecast a £5.06m shortfall over three years. By February 2026 it was £579k, with 2026/27 balanced without touching reserves. The Fair Funding Review, a £1.08m packaging levy grant and £700k of released budgets did most of the work.
